On Jun. 5, the Royal LePage Noralta Fort Saskatchewan brokerage held a perogy dinner to raise money for the Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association.

Initially, the brokerage expected to sell just 100 tickets to the event, but as demand grew, they sold 300 tickets in total.

The dinner was held in the Normandy Room at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hall. Shumka Ukrainian Foods catered the authentic perogy dishes.

"We are local; we try to be involved in supporting everybody here in the community who supports us. We want people to love living here in Fort Saskatchewan and area. Whatever we can do to help, we try and get involved," said Tawnie Misik, a realtor at the brokerage.

In addition to the food, there were performances by Fort Saskatchewan Barvinok Ukrainian dancers, music by Harold Reichstein and a speech by Ukraine Native Dana Yerko.

"It was a great partnership, and I'm excited to see how much help we can do with that money."

The Royal LePage Noralta Fort Saskatchewan brokerage regularly donates to other organizations such as food banks, women's shelters and the Families First Society.

The total dollar amount raised was $11,185.35.
