Man dies after colliding with a semi on Highway 28

A man has died after his pick-up truck collided with a semi.

At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Jun. 28), RCMP and emergency services responded to the collision on Highway 28 and Township Road 582 in Thorhild County.

Police believe the pickup truck crossed the centre line and collided with the semi hauling an empty Super B tank. 

The RCMP confirmed the driver of the pickup truck died from his injuries. 

A man in the semi escaped with only minor injuries after his truck caught fire due to the collision. 

Highway 28 at Township Road 582 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
