Riverside Park will be turning into a local waterpark tomorrow as part of the CitySplash event being put on by the city.
Summer Programs Coordinator with the city of Swift Current, McKenzie Acton provides some details on this fun-filled family event.
"I like to describe CitySplash as basically a DIY waterpark for the day. We have a whole bunch of water games and we have a big inflatable waterslide coming. And it's a great chance for kids to get out into the community, looks like we're going to have a nice hot day so hopefully get in some sun and just have a good time."
There is no need to pre-register for the event as Acton explains.
"So it's all drop-in, it's open for all ages up to 12. We just ask that anyone five and under is chaperoned by a parent or guardian and it's BYOT which means bring your own towel."
The event will be held from 10 am until 4 pm with a free bbq starting at 11 am. In the event of bad weather, the program will be moved to the Stockade at Kinetic Park.
Acton adds that its important for the citty to run these events in order to make connections with kids and make residents aware of all the summer kids programs they offer including Parks Play and the Zone.
