Strathcona County firefighters were called to an early morning blaze in Sherwood Park.

Strathcona County RCMP believe a recent fire set to a couple of houses was arson.
Fire crews responded to a structure fire call in the Summerwood subdivision of Sherwood Park early Saturday morning (July 23).
Upon arrival, crews found two unoccupied, newly built homes. One burned to the foundation while the neighbouring house was fully engulfed in flames.
The initial investigation determined the fire was intentionally set as an accelerant was located at the scene.
Strathcona County General Investigation Services continues to look into the incident.
