2ND UPDATE:

The Macklin Lakers NSRBL season is over after a lopsided 11-1 loss to the Standard Hill Lakers last night on the road. Macklin can now focus on Senior AA Tier 3 Provincials, which they are set to host from August 5-7. Standard Hill will play Wilkie in the NSRBL final series. Both the Brewers and the Standard Hill Lakers will be in Kindersley for Senior AA Tier 2 Provincials also from August 5-7, along with the North Battleford Beavers, Cabri River Rats and host Kindersley Stallions.

UPDATE

After a solid 3-2 win last night, the Kindersley Raiders are up 1-0 on the Oyen Eagles in the Fertile Valley Baseball League Championship Series.

They won in part thanks to a strong pitching performance from Tyler McKee, and some clutch hitting from Patrick Omness and Jeff Kosolfski as they will now have a chance to take the series Thursday on home turf at Berard Field.

Over in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League things are set for one team, as the Wilkie Brewers beat North Battleford in comeback fashion last night 6-5 to punch their ticket to the finals.

They await the winner of the Standard Hill Lakers and the Macklin Lakers, with Game 2 of that series set for tonight in Standard Hill.

Then looking at the Coteau Hills Baseball League, Dinsmore is taking on Kyle in their championship series that is set to get underway on Thursday in Dinsmore.

Senior baseball action in the area is set to continue on tonight. Things got back underway yesterday when it comes to local teams in the playoffs, across all leagues.

After defeating the Beechy Breakers in Game 3 on the road last night, the Kyle Yellow Jackets now await their opponent in the Coteau Hills Baseball League finals. In the Fertile Valley Baseball League, their championship series is set, and will get underway tonight in Oyen as the Raiders take on the Eagles. Then looking at local teams still alive in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League, Wilkie took the first game 5-0 against North Battleford last night thanks to a strong all around performance, and the battle of the Lakers saw Macklin drop the series opener to Standard Hill by a score of 6-2 as they are now forced to hit the road facing elimination.

Wilkie faces the opposite situation. Thanks to a Game 1 win on the road they can rest easy knowing they have a chance to take the series tonight at home, and get another chance at moving on later next week should they drop the second game of the series.

In other North Saskatchewan River Baseball League news, the Kindersley Stallions are preparing to host provincials, as they will welcome in a few familiar faces from around the league:
