High temperatures may cause heat-related illnesses such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion can include high body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting, and unconsciousness.
Be sure to check on those prone to heat-related conditions, such as infants, children, seniors, those with preexisting lung, heart, kidney, nervous system, mental health, or diabetes conditions, outdoor workers, and those who live alone.
Those seeking resources to assist them during the high temperatures should contact Family and Community Support Services at 780-992-6267, the city says. If you see someone in medical distress due to the heat, call 911.
