The Town of Gibbons has donated thousands of dollars to three community organizations.

On June 24, 58 golfers came out to the Town of Gibbons first annual golf tournament at Goose Hummock.

The $200 tournament entry fee allowed the town to donate to Sturgeon Victims Services, Bon Accord Gibbons Food Bank and the Gibbons Family Resource Centre.

“It was our first go at it. We are planning on doing it again next year. We are hoping to make it an annual event, bigger and better,” said Louise Bauder, with economic development for the Town of Gibbons

Each organization received a cheque of $3,600.

“They help a lot of people in Gibbons.”

The cheque presentation took place on Wednesday evening (July 27), where mayor Dan Deck presented the cheques in council chambers.
