Driver of vehicle that struck a pedestrian bridge found

This afternoon (August 8), Fort Saskatchewan RCMP with the assistance of Strathcona County RCMP, were able to identify the vehicle and driver from the July 21 bridge collision.

Last month a large vehicle struck the pedestrian bridge on Highway 15 just before the turnoff to 95 Street. 

On August 4, RCMP obtained footage of the vehicle which helped them track down the driver.

"Fort Saskatchewan RCMP wish to thank the public and the media for their assistance," police said in a statement. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
