Elk Island Catholic Schools released their 2022-23 school year calendar.
“The first day of school will be a staggered start for schools in Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, and Vegreville on either Aug. 30 or 31 and all schools in Camrose begin Sept 1.,” ECIS wrote on a Facebook post.
They also added that staff from your child's school would contact you to let you know which staggered start date applies to your school.
The calendar containing information for the areas of Fort Saskatchewan, Strathcona County and Vegreville showed that the first day that staff would return to the building would be Aug. 25.
School closures for the 2022-23 school year are as follows:
- Sept. 5 - Labour day
- Sept. 30 - Truth and Reconciliation Day
- Oct. 10 - Thanksgiving Day
- Nov. 7 - 11 - Fall break
- Dec. 21 - January 3 - Christmas break
- Jan. 31 - Semester 2 begins
- Feb. 9 - 10 - Teachers convention
- Feb. 20 - Family Day
- Apr. 7 - Good Friday
- Apr. 10 - Easter Monday
- Mar. 27 - 31 - Spring break
- May 19 - School closure
- May 22 - Victoria Day

The last day for students will be June 27, and the last day for staff will be June 28.
