Harbour Pool continues to enjoy high attendance numbers.

After the pandemic kept people cooped up for much of 2020, Harbour Pool saw record attendance during Summer 2021. Between 2019 and then, the pool saw nearly a ten per cent increase in attendance and often hit max capacity.

In response to last year's increase, pool officials made adjustments to the 2022 schedule to accommodate an influx of swimmers.

"We actually have two public swims during the day and in the afternoon – last year was extremely busy for our public swims in the morning, so we added in some more," explained aquatics operations supervisor Naomi Switzer.

She added that the morning public swims have typically been quieter, but it's helped the pool prevent reaching its maximum capacity so that everyone can continue to enjoy Harbour Pool.

"It's kind of spread out throughout the day to give people options on when they want to come instead of just having one or two times in the day."

The pool continues to offer its evening public swim.

Otherwise, summer has been great at the pool, according to Switzer. In its second year of operation, the lifejacket loaner station outside the pool has been incredibly successful. Lifejackets are being worn by many residents when they head out on the water and only a few are left on most weekends. Switzer noted that residents have been very prompt when returning them.
