Sky Hy Pizza and Donair hope to reopen their doors after a nearby fire.

At around 2:44 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 14), police and the Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department responded to a structure fire on 99 Avenue and 104 Street.

Fort Smiles Dental and Kids Fort Child & Out of School Care were both destroyed in the blaze -- no injuries were reported.

The popular restaurant is located in the strip mall next to where the fire occurred. While there was no physical damage to their eatery, the power was out for an extended amount of time.

"All the food thawed in the freezers, Our walk-in cooler stopped working so we’re working on fixing it," said Alaa Halabi from Sky Hy.

Halabi added the restaurant didn't have power until almost 7 p.m. on Sunday.

"Lots of work need to be done like cleaning up everything all coolers, freezer and then re-stocking them and do lots of preparation so we can re-open."

Halabi hopes to see the restaurant open on Thursday or Friday. Most of the other shops in the strip mall have reopened.

The fire is being investigated as arson.
