Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Fort Saskatchewan area this week.
Temperatures are expected to reach near 30 C on Thursday and Friday with temperatures cooling down to mid to high teens in the night.
High temperatures pose a risk of heat stroke, heat rash, or heat exhaustion, which may be life threatening. Residents can prevent these symptoms by keeping hydrated and staying cool.
The temperatures are expected to cool off for the weekend.
The warning is in place for Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Edmonton, Redwater, Bon Accord, Gibbons, Bruderheim, Morinville, and Lamont.
