If you're looking for a hot meal next week, the Rivercrest Care Centre has you covered.
Pop, chips, and burgers will be available for $8 on Monday (Sept. 19) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rivercrest Care Centre on 101 Avenue.
The Rivercrest has been doing these BBQ fundraisers twice a year, once in mid-summer and another towards the end of the season.
Amanda Clarke, the recreation assistant with the Rivercrest Care Centre, says they'll use the proceeds for recreation programs.
"We get supplies for crafts, entertainment, more activities like floor curling, and we're able to take them out on outings more often. We were actually looking to use some of this money to rent a bus to take them out to see the fall leaves or Christmas lights this year."
For those who can't make it to the BBQ, there are always other ways to help out. The Rivercrest also accepts cash donations that make their way back into the community.
This is their final BBQ fundraiser of the year, with the event returning next summer.
