A 24-year-old Fort Saskatchewan woman is the September recipient of the Half Grand Helping Hand.
Each month, Southfort Chevrolet and MIX 107 team up to help an individual, charity, organization, or sports team with a $500 donation.
This month, the cheque belongs to Collette Washbrook.
For nine years, Washbrook has been dealing with back pain that perplexed doctors. After getting word from the Royal Alexandra Hospital that her scheduled surgery would be canceled due to staffing shortages, Washbrook looked elsewhere for some hope.
The donation will be put towards Collette's private surgery option that carries a price tag of $30,000.
