Sherwood Park native, Carter Hart, revealed his new mask that will 'rock' his upcoming season with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The mask pays homage to the Foo Fighters and features the face of late drummer Taylor Hawkins on one side while lead singer Dave Grohl is on the other.

"Foo Fighters are a band that I really liked and it's my dad's favorite band," Hart told NHL.com on Friday. "When we were going to hockey in the car when I was younger, he would blast the song 'The Pretender' in his truck, and so that would get me fired up before the game. I wanted to do that obviously for him and then obviously with Taylor Hawkins passing away, I thought it'd be a nice tribute to the band and to Taylor."

Hart will hope the mask brings a bit more luck this season. He finished last year with just 13 wins while his team missed the playoffs.

His season is set to get underway when the Flyers welcome in the New Jersey Devils on Oct.13.
