The Freeze couldn’t t cool down the Nighthawks' offense Friday night as the Niverville fans went home happy after their team won 6-0 for their first-ever home win.

Niverville got on the board early as Josh Paulhus scored during the first minute of play. He followed up with another goal in the first and then capped off a nice passing play for the hat trick halfway through the third period. In total, the Nighthawks scored 4 times in the opening 20 minutes and twice in the third frame for a convincing 6-0 victory.

Brett Tataryn, Jack Lambert, and Carter Spirig chipped in as the Nighthawks managed to score a half dozen goals on 49 shots over the course of the game. Brendan Bottom, Ethan Kelly, Zak Kennet, and Carson Reed all had a pair of assists on the evening that saw plenty of scoring chances.

Michael O’Sullivan of the Freeze stood on his head during the second frame as the Nighthawks pressed but couldn’t beat the netminder as he dazzled with some astounding saves. Niverville fired 19 shots on goal but came up empty in the middle period.

Ethan Kadatz faced 16 shots but made key saves and helped earn the Nighthawk's first franchise shutout.

Overall it was a great team effort for the Nighthawks' second straight win, improving their record to 3 wins and 4 losses. (6 PTS)

The Freeze have just one win in six tries including one loss in OT. (3 PTS)

The two teams meet each other again, this time back at the Iceplex in Winnipeg Sunday evening at 6 pm.
