After over three years of construction, the new Highway 15 bridge is now open for two lane traffic going in and out of Fort Saskatchewan.

The bridge partially opened in mid-September, allowing one-way traffic going both ways.

Construction began in August 2019 as part of the provincial government's $789.4-million investment into roads and bridges around Alberta.

Eight kilometers of Highway 15 is being twinned alongside the new bridge crossing.

Over 70 construction projects are in the works as part of the government's investment, with a few others being completed by the end of the fall.
