The Moose Jaw Warriors organization will be well-represented in the National Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.

Eight alumni across eight teams will be suiting up in the NHL to start the season.

Joel Edmundson will be wearing an ‘A’ for the Montreal Canadiens this season after being named an alternate captain for the 2021-22 season. Edmundson is entering his third season with the Habs after picking up three goals and six points in 24 games last season. He has 26 goals and 91 points in 416 career NHL games.

Tanner Jeannot is heading into his second season with the Nashville Predators after putting together a Calder Trophy-contending rookie season in 2021-22. Jeannot posted 24 goals and 41 points in 81 games during his rookie campaign in Smashville.

Dryden Hunt will be hitting the ice in the Big Apple for his second season with the New York Rangers. In 76 games last season, Hunt posted six goals and 17 points. Hunt has 12 goals and 40 points in 165 career NHL games.

Travis Hamonic returns to action with the Ottawa Senators after being traded to the Nation’s Capital last season. In 43 games split between Ottawa and Vancouver in 2021-22, the defenceman had four goals and 10 points. Hamonic has 44 goals and 208 points over 718 career games in NHL.

Brayden Point is getting ready for another Stanley Cup run with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The two-time Cup winner put up his fifth straight 20+ goal season in 2021-22, finishing with 28 goals and 58 points in 66 games. Point has 167 goals and 368 points in 417 career NHL games.

Morgan Rielly enters his 10th season with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2022-23. Rielly finished last season with 10 goals and 68 points in 82 games. He has 69 goals and 373 points over 654 career NHL games.

Noah Gregor hits the ice for his fourth season with the San Jose Sharks. In 63 games last season, Gregor posted eight goals and 23 points. He has 16 goals and 34 points in 121 games over his NHL career.

Brett Howden is heading into his fifth NHL season and second with the Vegas Golden Knights. Howden had nine goals and 20 points in 47 games last season with Vegas. In 225 career NHL games, he has 25 goals and 69 points.

The NHL season officially opens on Tuesday night with Point and the Lightning heading into New York to take on Hunt and the Rangers. Howden and the Golden Knights face off with the Kings in Los Angeles.
