The Strathmore Community Football Association (SCFA) Badgers are back with their annual card fundraiser, and this year has a lot of great deals!
Badger Cards are cards full of discounts for businesses around town, and Badger's president Doug Thiessen explains this fundraiser is very community based.
"We get great community support from a lot of the retailers in the community. They give bonuses to most of the restaurants around town, and a lot of the other stores like Rona, and Canadian Tire. It gives you different discounts, saves you money, we get lots of support from the community, and that's our biggest fundraiser of the year, that pretty much puts our football season on track," he said.
For $20 you get plenty of discounts, some of which are one-time uses and some of which last the entire year. Some of the year-long benefits include, but aren't limited to:
- A & W: free Teen Burger with purchase of Teen Burger combo
- Strathmore Golf Club: buy one get one free large bucket of driving range balls
- Dairy Queen: Free double cheeseburger with purchase of double cheeseburger and fries
- Domino's Pizza: Buy any pizza at regular price and get a second one for 99 cents.
Thiessen added the one-time-use pieces "more than pay for the card four times over."
To support the Badgers and also get some discounts, you'll be able to purchase these from any Badgers player who may be selling them around the community. Some establishments like The Roadhouse have a couple to sell as well. If all else fails, Thiessen said you can also contact him directly through their website.
