Nova Scotian hip-hop artist Classified is coming to the Shell Theatre.

The show, which is part of his Retrospected Tour, will be on Tuesday (Oct. 25) with special guest Reeny Smith.

For those who have seen Classified before, this show will be a completely different vibe.

"I want theatres. I want everyone to sit down. I want to make it look like you just came into my living room," Classified said. "I've got my guitar player, my keyboard player, and my drum machine. It's really personable. [There's] a lot of storytelling, a lot of emotions."

The show will feature versions of previously released songs, including some of his popular hits such as Inner Ninja and 3 Foot Tall.

This is one of Classified's first times on the road since the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a family man, he says that he has mixed feelings about going back on tour.

"I've been home with my kids, going to a few festivals here and there, but nothing more than three or four days. To pack it up and leave for four weeks, it was a lot of hugs. It's a little more difficult but at the same time I haven't been on the road for four years."

Classified has been in the hip-hop game since 1995. Since then, he's released 18 albums, written a bestselling book, and even hosted the JUNO Awards alongside Serena Ryder, who also played the Shell Theatre earlier this month.

MIX 107 presents the show at 7:30 p.m. Some tickets are still available from $36 to $40 and can be purchased here.
