The Fort Saskatchewan Youth Council is looking for more voices to join the discussion.
The council can fit up to 14 members but has only filled five of its seats.
Currently, the council is working on strategic planning and chatting with youth to figure out a plan to get them more involved in the community.
"Some things that we highlighted were facilitating more groups and clubs in town for young people because there's not a lot for [youth] to do," says Cassidy Sinclair, vice chair of the youth council.
The council's purpose is to educate and empower youth to provide information and recommendations on issues that involve residents between the ages of 14 and 24.
"I love advocacy, and everything related to it, so getting to be that voice for youth makes me quite proud," Sinclair said.

Youth council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. via a Webex group call.
