Remax of Swift Current is doing its part to ensure all children can enjoy the Halloween tradition of trick or treating this year.

Owner and Broker, Lanette Thoreson says the program was started by their national office last year to bring awareness regarding accessibility for children with mobility issues.

Thoreson says they hope that the program and awareness continue to grow.

"We're hoping that every year we can get a better response and maybe going forward in the future we can have people message us and let us know where their wheelchair accessible or their mobility accessible homes are so we can make up a map for people to know where they can go trick or treat."

In addition, Thoreson provides details on the importance of the campaign.

"Often it isn't something that we think about at Halloween time. We just think about the children running about and having so much fun. We don't think about the children that have accessibility issues and that awareness needs to be brought so that they can partake in this Halloween tradition."

Anyone with an accessible residence can email their address to remax@remaxsc.ca as they will be trying to compile a list of local homes in time for the big night.
