The Salvation Army is teaming up with chiropractors across Saskatchewan for their 6th Annual Toasty Toes Sock Drive.
Local chiropractor at Railway Health Clinic, Dr. Raelene Booth provides details on the campaign.
"Saskatchewan chiropractors and clinics all over the province are collecting new pairs of socks from now until November 30th. The goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of socks to donate to the Salvation Army and other community outreach centers."
In a press release from both organizations, it is stated that "Socks are an incredibly important item for those trying to navigate the harsh winters in Saskatchewan. Agencies that support individuals and families with limited means can never have too many quality socks to distribute throughout the winter months."
Over the past five years, Saskatchewan chiropractors and their patients have collected over 80,000 pairs of socks.
Dr. Booth describes why their clinic jumped on board with the campaign.
"It's one of the most requested items from the Salvation Army but also the least donated items to the Salvation Army is socks. So it was just a good thing to get involved with."
