Drivers going through the Kenora area are warned of two sets of delays on Highway 17.

The Ministry of Transportation reports that a spill has closed the eastbound lane of Highway 17A about 1.5 km east of Jones Road, and crews are working to clean the area.

Traffic control is in place, lanes may be alternated and residents are asked to drive with caution.

On the other side of town, drivers can expect up to 20-minute delays on the TransCanada near Kendall Inlet Road and Clearwater Bay.

MTO says single-lane closures are being controlled by traffic personnel in two sections on Highway 17 from Highway 17 and the Highway 17A west junction, for about half a kilometre and about seven kilometres as crews continue blasting work.

Delays are expected to continue through Friday.
