Howleen Manor, a local haunted house, managed to raise thousands of dollars and hundreds of pounds of food for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank.

During this year's Halloween weekend, Howleen Manor had around 1,700 people take a tour.

"Numbers were down a little bit throughout the year, but overall it was fantastic," said Don Lawrence, owner of the manor.

Admission was free with a food bank donation, but on Halloween, the Lawrence family charged five dollars a head. After the weekend, the Lawrence family raised $2,010 and around 920 pounds for the food bank.

However, with the snow hitting Fort Saskatchewan in the last few days, the Lawrence family has had to delay taking the decorations down.

"We're doing a major teardown this upcoming weekend with help from Sting Football, various friends, and volunteers," Don said.

If you enjoyed Howleen Manor and are looking to help with teardown, you can reach the Lawrence family through the manor's Facebook page.
