Update: One dead in collision outside Redwater

One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision just outside of Redwater.

The crash happened on Monday (Nov. 7) morning just after 1 a.m.

Redwater RCMP responded to a head-on collision between a truck and an SUV on Highway 28.

The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old man from Vermillion, Alberta, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the truck were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The Redwater Fire Department diverted traffic while RCMP investigated the crash. Highway 28 was reopened around 11 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing, and no other updates are expected.
