The City of Fort Saskatchewan provided updates on a variety of construction projects in the community.

This included a small update on the status of the pedestrian bridge being built underneath the new Highway 15 bridge.

"Work is complete on the portion of Hwy 15 within the City of Fort Saskatchewan limits except for the trails under the new bridge. Paving of the trails will occur in the Spring of 2023. Trail Closures will be in effect over the winter," the city said on its website.

They are also hoping that work in the Fort Centre Park area will be complete by the end of the month. If that isn't the case, any remaining work will be completed next Spring.

The Greenfield Way traffic calming project is continuing work at Greenfield Link and Dillingham Ave. They are raising the crosswalks and installing flashing crosswalk lights. Line painting will be completed in the Spring.

Work on modernizing the JRC is also underway, albeit in its early stages. An architect and construction manager have been selected for the project; design concepts are currently being drafted.

A contractor has also mobilized the site of the new Southfort Meadows Park and the concrete pad for the proposed outdoor rink has been poured. Residents shouldn't expect the rink to be operational until next winter.

The Range Road 224 culvert replacement project now has a contractor. The culvert crosses the road at the Yorkville Ditch. The area from Sienna Boulevard and Township Road 542 will be closed during construction.
