The Kerrobert Curling Club is looking for some help to setup the rink this weekend. Curling Club Member Mark Neumeier explains how many people they are looking for.

“All we are doing is putting the rings down and putting lines down. If we get eight to ten people, it should take us about two hours,” Neumeier said.

Neumeier, along with Brennan Murphy, and other members of the Kerrobert Curling Club, want to see the newly renovated curling club put to good use.

“It’s just such a beautiful facility, I just don’t want to see it die,” Neumeier added. The Curling Club is looking to focus on open or mixed curling this year, something Neumeier said they are pushing for.

“We're going to try a different program this year, we're going to make it an open, not just not a men’s league. We usually have anywhere from six to seven teams of men that would come out, but we want to fill all the sheets and we would like to do a couple nights and just make it worthwhile for putting the ice in right?”

“So, we're looking for members. We're looking for people just to come out, get some exercise, throw some stones. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or if you're a seasoned curler. We can throw with sticks. You can curl with whatever you want, if you want to do four ends you can, if you want to do six ends you can. We've completely redone the whole curling rink, we've got new lights, new scoreboards, new furnaces, the upstairs lounge is already done. It's just it's a fantastic facility, looking really good right now.”

If you are interested in helping this Sunday at 1:00 pm setting up the rink, you can contact Mark at 306-494-7356.
