People who own a Dodge should make sure they are extra secure.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is warning the public after a series of thefts targeting high-end Dodge trucks and SUVs.

At least 11 incidents involving the theft of these vehicles have been reported since the beginning of the month. Each theft involved at least one of the following 2021 and 2022 models of vehicles:

  • Dodge RAM TRX trucks
  • Dodge Ram 1500 Limited series trucks
  • Dodge Durango Hellcat editions

All of the stolen vehicles were equipped with push-button starts, which thieves are taking advantage of using cloned key fobs.

“Our TRAP teams are investigating these thefts and focusing extra resources on identifying those responsible,” says Acting Sgt. Don Lawrence, with the EPS TRAP team. “In the meantime, we want to alert owners of these vehicles so they can take extra steps to protect their property.”

Police are asking owners of these types of vehicles to park them in secure locations, remove all valuables from the vehicle, and use a steering-wheel lock.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
