Four people have been taken to hospital after a collision on Highway 15 on Sunday (Nov. 27) afternoon.

Police say that, at about 1:30 p.m., a Hyundai Sonata sedan was travelling westbound on Highway 15 through an intersection with a flashing yellow light. The Sonata was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV turning left onto 17 Street northbound.

EMS and STARS responded and transported the occupants of the Sonata, an adult man, adult woman, and male youth, to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The only person in Santa Fe, an adult woman, was also brought to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

At this moment, police say that excessive speed and driver impairment were not factors in the collision.

The area has now reopened.
