A series of earthquakes in northern Alberta was strong enough that many felt it right here in Fort Saskatchewan.

Some residents may have felt their house shaking shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 29).

In a Facebook post asking about the shaking, residents from Gibbons, Sherwood Park, and even Wetaskiwin responded saying they felt it as well.

This shake was caused by a series of earthquakes 26 kilometres away from Peace River.

The first earthquake had an estimated magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale. The other measured 6.0, making it the largest earthquake in the province's history.

So far there have been no reports of damage.
