Oilers fans got to know the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank a little better.
The food bank was featured during an intermission of Wednesday (Nov. 30) night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Denise Rogers appeared on Sportsnet in an interview to discuss her experience with the food bank and the work that they are doing.
Executive director, Kassandra Gartner, is grateful they were able to have such an opportunity.
"We really wanted to put the message out that we are here for our community and if somebody is struggling, we encourage them to connect with us," said Gartner.
The opportunity came through Food Banks Alberta as part of their provincial campaign.
People can help stock the shelves at the food bank by dropping off donations directly at their location, finding volunteers in local grocery stores, or even mailing in cheques to help them get funds to buy fresh food.
