Swift Current Municipal RCMP are on the lookout for a dangerous driver.
On the evening of November 29th, 2022, at approximately 5:00pm, RCMP were called to a suspicious vehicle near a residence on the 800 block of 8th Ave NE.
Officers identified the vehicle which was a white 2017 Range Rover and identify the driver. Two patrol cars attempted to stop the vehicle and speak with the driver, however the driver proceeded to continue without stopping.
RCMP continued to follow the vehicle mentioned at the normal road speeds with their emergency lights and sirens on for a number of blocks and were finally able to approach the car after it waited behind another vehicle at a stop sign on the corner of 8th Ave NE and Chaplin St East.
As officers approached the vehicle the driver once again sped off at a high rate of speed cutting traffic off. Members located the vehicle moments later after it crashed into the ditch off of North Railway Street E and 11 Ave NE, however the driver had fled the scene on foot.
34-year-old Raymond (Ray) Davis of Maple Creek has been charged with:
1. Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code.
2. Flight from Police Officer contrary to Section 320.17 of the Criminal Code.
Currently, Raymond Davis has not been located and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is known to frequent both Maple Creek and Swift Current and is described as Caucasian, six feet tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with short dirty blond hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, white baseball cap and sunglasses.
