The Humboldt Broncos eked out a win over the Red Wings in Weyburn this past Saturday.

Weyburn took the early lead on goals by Nicholas Kovacs and Elijah Anderson, but Broncos newcomer Mathew Van Blaricom scored late in the first to narrow the gap.

The second period was a back and forth slugfest, with Connor Casparie, Ethan Zielke, and Timothy Kim with a pair all hitting the mark.

Tied at five apiece going into the final, Alec Saretsky went to work early, but the Redwings tied it up once again. At the halfway mark came the decider off the stick of Jacob Boucher. Newly acquired goaltender Hayden Dunford took the win, turning aside 16 of 22 shots. At the other end of the rink, the Broncos peppered Weyburn goalie Matt Schoephoerster with 54 shots, a clear indication of the Broncos' firepower.

The Broncos make a welcome return to the EPA Wednesday night to face the Notre Dame Hounds. See you there, and catch all the action on 107.5 Bolt FM.
