An unexpected guest took a spin at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex a few weeks ago.

Workers at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex had a surprise visitor hit the ice a few weeks ago.

As a staff member was doing ice maintenance, they heard a noise come from behind him. Curious, the staff member investigated and found that young deer had snuck through the Zamboni doors and onto the ice rink.

The deer wasn't prepared for the slippery ice and did struggle a bit before eventually finding his footing and scampering back into the bush.

"Our staffer made sure the deer wasn’t spooked and gave him lots of space but positioned himself so the deer knew which way to go to get back out of the facility," said Strathcona County in a statement.

All in all, spare a few bumps from falling on the ice, it seemed like everybody came out of the situation with no injuries.
