The numbers are in from Statistics Canada, and they show that the provincial unemployment rate has dropped to the second lowest in Canada.
Job numbers for the month of November in the province set a record after adding nearly 12,000 jobs.
Statistics Canada revealed the stats which show that provincial unemployment has dropped to the second lowest in Canada. Seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate decreased from 4.6 percent in October to 4.2 percent in November and is down from 5.3 percent since last year.
In a governmental press release Minister of Immigration and Career Training, Jeremy Harrison said "With strong economic growth in merchandise exports, wholesale trade, and building construction, our province is showing remarkable strength, marking Saskatchewan as a continued destination of choice for newcomers and investment."
The press release also revealed that major year-over-year gains were reported for professional, scientific & technical services, up 5,000 jobs (+19.0 percent), health care & social assistance, up 3,500 jobs (+3.9 percent), and forestry, fishing, mining, oil and gas, up 2,900 jobs (+16.1 percent).
Saskatchewan set several record highs last month including Saskatchewan employment at 574,300 and full-time employment at 464,900. Saskatchewan female employment numbers came in at 271,000 and Off-reserve Indigenous Employment at 61,300.
The off-reserve Indigenous unemployment rate decreased to 6.6 percent, an all-time historical low. Employment was up 1,500 (+2.5 percent), marking 24 consecutive months of year-over-year increases according to the provincial press release.
Manufacturing sales numbers were also up in the province rising 24.1 percent from September 2021 to September of this year which is the third highest growth among the provinces.
