It's been a big year for local athlete Aaron Parker, and now he is in the process of taking that crucial next step in his career.
The University of British Columbia has offered Parker a spot on the team.
The Bev Facey Falcons star transitioned to football three years ago, leaving hockey behind, and hasn't looked back.
In the last year alone, Parker was voted as the defensive player of the game after the gold medal match at the Canada Cup in Kelowna. He was also one of the 12 athletes from the area named a Metro Athletics all-star for this past season.
Parker said that although he's been given the offer, he's still leaving his options open. No matter what happens, he already knows what he wants to learn.
"I would like to go into physical therapy and kinesthesiology because that's what interests me," Parker said.
Parker also said that he wouldn't be where he is without the help of his coaches and teammates.
"Even when you don't want to do the work, put it in, because that's what's going to make you better."
Parker has previously mentioned that he will be waiting until his graduation to make a decision on where he will play.
