Residents in Shaunavon will have the opportunity to join together for a one-of-a-kind tour of the twinkling lights displayed throughout the town.
The Me Time Merry Christmas event, put on by the Me Time Shaunavon partners, will kick off tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m., explained Lauren Johnson, economic development officer for the town of Shaunavon.
“The event is actually going to be a guided light tour of our twinkle tour with a special guest tour guide on a luxury tour bus,” she explained. “So, it's going to be a pretty fun night, driving around town seeing all the fun Christmas lights. Hopefully some special guests and it's all going to start off at six o'clock on Thursday night at the senior centre.”
This is the first year that the event will take place after the Me Time programming was launched in September as a way to connect with the community and promote inclusivity and mental health.
There will be two different departure times for the guided tours, with the first bus leaving at 6:30 p.m., followed by the second bus at 7:30 p.m.
“With Me Time, all the events are geared towards adults 18 years of age and over,” Johnson added. “Just because it's starting at the Senior Center does not mean that it's not open to adults of all ages, we'd love to see everybody come out and enjoy the fun evening of some holiday festivity.”
Local businesses in Shaunavon, such as Western Financial Group, Helix Construction, and Kornfeld Electric came together to sponsor the event.
Rides to Shaunavon's Senior Centre can also be arranged.
