It appears as though many southwest Saskatchewan residents will be ditching their winter gear for sunscreen as they head to warmer destinations.
Travel Consultant with Marlin Travel in Swift Current, Kelly Cavanagh provides some input on the most popular destinations this year.
"Lots of people are looking for a break from the cold that Saskatchewan is famous for. We have been booking a variety of destinations including Mexico, Hawaii, Cuba, Dominican to some further away like Vietnam and Cambodia, Ireland, Egypt, and even Italy."
She adds that they have had some steady business since the Summer and the demand for travel has increased significantly.
Cavanagh details the travel trends they have noticed this year.
"We've certainly noticed lots of larger family groups and lots of bucket list trips. When travel essentially shut down, people didn't really know if these would become available to them again. So now the trend seems to be not to put these trips off."
Looking towards the coming year Cavanagh says its hard to predict what will happen when it comes to travel as aside from the increase in the demand and desire to travel there are still some countries with restrictions in place so its important to be aware of that.
