The price tags in grocery stores continue to increase, leaving many Saskatchewan residents feeling the difference in their wallets.

This has led many individuals to make adjustments to the way they purchase groceries.

We asked our readers in a non-scientific poll to let us know if the increased cost of living has influenced the way that they grocery shop.

Many residents said that they now reach for less expensive or less nutritious food, while others said they now wait for items to go on sale.

Has the increased cost of living affected how you purchase groceries?

Of the 103 responses we received on our first question:

  • Yes represented 96 votes (93.2%)
  • No represented 7 votes (6.8%)

The fourth question of the survey allowed people to tell us other ways that the rising cost of living has impacted the way that they grocery shop. We had 63 responses.

Many people said that they have stopped eating out, while others added that they have completely cut certain items from their grocery lists.

The results from the survey were gathered on December 16, at approximately 10 a.m.
