The freezing rain warning has ended, though a fog advisory is in effect for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, a freezing rain warning was for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," a special weather statement from Environment Canada read.
Although the main precipitation band moved out of Calgary, some freezing rain might form around noon near the Foothills and affect the region.
The Olds Fire Department issued a warning to motorists on social media stating that due to freezing rain highway travel is not being recommended.
"If you have to travel make sure you are prepared for extremely icy conditions."
The fog advisory issued for Airdrie and the surrounding areas encompasses:

- Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
- Mountain View Co. near Sundre
