Seven more people will be inducted into the Strathcona County sports wall of recognition later this month.

Former NHL goaltender Cam Ward highlights the class, who will officially have their name added on January 13 at Millenium Place.

Ward, who is from Saskatoon but spent much of his youth in Sherwood Park, played 14 seasons in the NHL mostly with the Carolina Hurricanes. He won a Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006.

He retired as the Hurricanes franchise leader in wins, games played, wins, and saves.

Joining Ward in the athlete category are Colin Bonneau, Ryan King, Jimmy Quinlan and Tom Wilkinson.

Bonneau is a world-renowned powerlifter that has set around 90 world records during his peak, many of which still stand today. He is most well-known for being the world's strongest church organist.

King is an alumnus of the Sherwood Park Northstars football team. He was drafted into the CFL by the Edmonton Elk in 2012 and spent eight years with the club. He picked up a Grey Cup championship and the Tom Pate Memorial Award during that time.

Wilkinson is another CFL great, quarterbacking for the Toronto Argonauts, BC Lions, and Edmonton Elks between 1967 and 1981. He led the Elk to five Grey Cup championships and finished his career with 1,613 completed passes that went 22,579 yards and 154 touchdowns.

He was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 1987.

Lastly, Quinlan represents lacrosse in this induction. Hailing from Sherwood Park, he began his professional career in lacrosse back in 2005 with the Toronto Rock before playing eight seasons with the Edmonton Rush. He became a defensive coach with the team in 2013 following their relocation to Saskatoon, where he won two NLL championships.

Lorrie Horne and Terri Gallant will be inducted into the builder's category.

Horn is widely regarded as one of the greatest ringette coaches in Canada, having done it for 38 years.

While Gallant is a veteran skating coach, joining the Sherwood Park Skating Club in 1989.

This will be the first time since 2017 that names will be added to the wall.
