Albertans can now apply for
Categories

The Alberta government is now accepting applications for their inflation affordability payments.

The portals to apply opened up on Wednesday (Jan. 18) morning and will allow eligible Albertans to apply for the cash.

Payments of $600, spread out over six months in $100 installments, are being offered to Alberta families and seniors to help deal with rising inflation costs.

Families could receive $600 for every child under 18 and senior that lives in the household.

These payments are only available to families who have a household income under $180,000. Seniors on the Alberta Seniors Benefit should automatically receive the payment. Otherwise, they will have to apply.

On top of families and seniors, Albertans who receive benefits through AISH, Income Support, or PDD will have the money automatically deposited for themselves. If anyone in those benefit programs has kids, they will need to apply to receive additional payments.

You can apply in person at a local registry office or an Alberta Supports office.
