How old are people living in Fort Saskatchewan?

A quick look at data from the 2021 Canadian census can help give us some answers.

The biggest groups based on age are 34 to 39-year-olds, who make up 2,465 people. Following closely behind them are 25 to 29-year-olds and 30 to 34-year-olds with 2,005 and 2,380 people respectively.

The smallest group based on age in Fort Saskatchewan is 100 years old and older, with only five women of that age in the whole city. Right behind them are 90 to 94-year-olds, and 95 to 99-year-olds, with 150 people in both categories.

With all those ages considered, the average age of Fort Saskatchewan's population is 37.2 years. For men specifically, the average is 36.4 years, while for women it's 38.1 years.

Here are some other interesting findings about the age groups in Fort Saskatchewan:

  • Almost 20 per cent of the population is under the age of 15.
  • There are more young men than young women, but after retirement age, there are more women than men.
  • There is almost a 50/50 split between men and women, with only 200 more men in the city.
