A Fort Saskatchewan woman is facing multiple charges for arson, including her alleged role in a large business fire last summer.

RCMP say they responded to reports of a number of dumpster fires in the area of 99 Avenue and 99 Street in Fort Saskatchewan on Monday (Feb. 6).

Police obtained surveillance video and identified 33-year-old April Oleksyn as a suspect.

According to the RCMP, a further investigation into the matter has linked Oleksyn to the August fire at a local daycare and dental clinic on 104 Street.

Oleksyn is now in police custody, facing four counts of arson and breaching her probation. One of the arson charges stems from the incident in the summer.

Police are continuing the investigation with a press conference planned on Thursday.
