UPDATE:

Services will be operating as normal this weekend, February 11 - 12.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has managed to fill the labour needed in order to operate at regular capacity.

This update emerged today at 3:40 p.m.

Original Story:

Residents should be advised of a temporary service disruption to the operating room and epidurals at the Cypress Regional Hospital.

The disruption will be in effect as of tomorrow, until the 13, and again from February 24 to 27.

This may have an impact on patients' ability to deliver children at the Cypress Regional Hospital due to certain patients not being recommended for labor without these services.

In a post on Facebook, the Associate Family Physicians Clinic advised patients to speak to their obstetrical provider and encouraged those affected to either call or go to the Womens and Childrens ward before travelling to a different hospital.

Patients can call the Cypress Regional Hospital at (306)-778-9400 and ask to speak to the Women’s and Children’s Department at the first signs of labor to allow enough time for risk assessment, consultation and a safe plan for delivery.

In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.

Non-urgent health related questions can be directed to the provincial HealthLine 811, by dialing 8-1-1.
