After years of hard work and dedication, one Swift Current pharmacist is being recognized on a national level.
Pharmacist/Owner of Shoppers Drug Mart in Swift Current, Paul Bazin, was awarded 2022’s Associate/Owner of the Year at the retail chain’s national conference in New Orleans last month.
The award is chosen once a year and is selected based on a variety of different criteria.
“It focused on community involvement, customer-focused experiences in the store as well as just an overall good employee experience,” Bazin elaborated. “Then they also take into consideration store growth, pharmacy growth and how things are going overall in the business to select their winners.”
Bazin, who took over the Swift Current store in 2018, said that he was shocked and humbled when his name was read as the winner.
“There's a lot of great people that are very deserving of the award,” he stated. “So, I was very honoured, but also totally surprised when I found out I won.”
Bazin added that it wouldn’t have been possible without the team of individuals that have supported him along the way.
“These types of awards, they're amazing and I'm always super, super honoured to have won them, but they're very much a team effort,” he stated. “I mean for me to win this award, it means that I have an amazing team working behind me every day to ensure that we can meet those things, do the work in the community that we do, provide that excellent customer service, have that great environment in the store. It takes the entire tribe for us to be able to get there. So, I'm very thankful to my entire team for making that a possibility.”
