Strathcona County RCMP is looking for the public's help in finding a man allegedly connected to a murder back in 2021.
In September 2021, police responded to a vehicle fire near Township Road 530 and Range Road 221.
Police say they found a dead body inside the burnt vehicle. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Vanessa Silva. Her death was deemed suspicious at the time.
Almost eight months later, following an extensive investigation, Police identified and arrested 25-year-old Cordell Kennedy as a suspect in the case.
Now, police say they've identified another suspect, 24-year-old Bith Chuol. A warrant has been issued for his arrest, and he's been charged with the following:
- First-Degree-murder
- Kidnapping
- Breaking and entering
- Extortion
Police are asking for the public's help in locating Chuol, who has ties to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Manitoba.
Chuol is described as:
- Dark complexion
- 6'4''
- 140 pounds
- Black hair
- Brown eyes
Police say that Chuol is considered armed and dangerous and are asking the public not to approach him if they believe they've found him.
