A Sherwood Park woman is facing robbery charges.

In late February, Strathcona County RCMP say that they responded to a call regarding a robbery that happened in the parking lot of a grocery store on Baseline Road.

Police rushed to the scene where a victim informed them that they were attacked by a woman after organizing a transaction on a buy and sell website.

The suspect reportedly attacked the victim with bear mace before stealing the item and fleeing the scene.

RCMP brought in their police dog unit and eventually found the suspect at a nearby residence.

As a result, 38-year-old Tonya Scott-Loga was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of stolen property

Scott-Loga will appear in a provincial court later this week.
