Redwater RCMP has charged a man with breaking and entering after catching him in the middle of stealing a car.
Last month, police received a call from a concerned resident who said they saw someone trying to steal their neighbour's car in Thorhild.
When officers arrived, they say the suspect, 23-year-old Bradley Ingebrigsten, was behind the driver's seat of the car. He was placed under arrest.
After searching Ingebrigsten, police allegedly found a retractable baton, several key rings with car keys, a bag of break-in tools, a wallet, and a garage door opener.
After further investigation, police found that the wallet and garage door opener were stolen from a different location. They also found out that the Ingebrigsten was released on conditions which included not owning weapons.
Ingebrigsten, a resident of Lac La Biche County, was charged with:
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Breaking and entering with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Failure to comply with release order condition (x2)
- Mischief under $5000
After being transported to the Redwater detachment, Ingebrigsten was released.
